What Do I Need to Know About My DIASTAT® AcuDial™ (diazepam rectal gel) Prescription?

DIASTAT AcuDial is the same DIASTAT product that has been on the market since 1997. It is a known and FDA-approved medication, with over 2 million doses prescribed. The DIASTAT AcuDial delivery system gives your doctor greater ability to adapt your dose of medicine to your individual needs.

Your doctor will write a prescription for the amount of medicine that you need. When you bring your prescription to the pharmacy, the pharmacist will "dial in" the correct amount of medicine into a pre-filled delivery system and lock it into place before giving it to you. The locking mechanism ensures that you will receive the correct amount.

Your pharmacist will provide you with a Twin Pack that contains 2 pre-filled delivery systems with your prescribed dose locked in, 2 packets of lubricating jelly, and administration and disposal instructions.

Please note: a 2.5 mg pre-filled syringe of DIASTAT is still available. This delivery system does not require dialing and locking prior to dispensing or use.
