Update: 20 mg Syringe Has Changed

Pharmacists will no longer be able to dispense a 10mg dose in a 20mg syringe. Rather, if the prescription calls for 10mg dose, you will need to provide your patient with a 10mg syringe set at the maximum dose of 10mg.

Additionally:

  • The 20 mg syringe cannot be used for 10 mg doses
  • The minimum dose in the 20 mg syringe is 12.5 mg
  • Use the maximum dose (10 mg) on the 10 mg syringe to deliver a 10 mg dose to patients.

Important note: Both syringes still must be locked even if the maximum dose is prescribed.

Important change:

  • The available doses from the 10 mg syringe are 5, 7.5, and 10 mg
  • The available doses from the 20 mg syringe are 12.5, 15, 17.5, and 20 mg
